At launch, XDefiant will feature four factions: the Wolves (Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon), Echelon (Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell), and the Outcasts and Cleaners (Tom Clancy’s The Division). XDefiant brings together multiple Clancy franchises to form a roster of customizable characters, known as Defiants, for players to choose from. with the right marketing this game could pull a pretty good number of players during these transitions.Tom Clancy’s XDefiant is a free-to-play multiplayer competitive shooter coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Ubisoft Connect, Luna, and Stadia, with full cross-play available at launch. Lots of the people who would play a game because it doesn't have aim assist will also get bored of the strength of vehicles and explosives with the Battlefield format and go back to Valorant/Overwatch, realize they don't want to deal with the issues they have with those games either, and start looking other options. i think XDefiant will have its own surge at some point though as long as they don't fuck anything up (haven't kept up to date with development, but hopefully it's going well). I wouldn't be surprised though if a large piece of XDefiant's playerbase is people like my friend group, who specifically are interested in it because its MnK friendly, and are participating in the recent BattleBit hype. i did enjoy it the one time i played though, and am definitely going to give it another try now that i've been reminded. They know when to delay it or when to release it, better than us, for our benefit.Īs someone who installed it because it doesn't have aim assist (so did my friends), i personally have been playing BattleBit mostly, i downloaded Battlebit basically the same week of trying XDefiant and have been playing that mostly, and the game slipped my mind til just now when this post got recommended on my feed. Let them do it because they are the devs, not us. It takes time to figure out the issues in netcode, considering we had some issues in open beta. Game development is not easy, especially multiplayer. This is a good F2P shooter so let them develop it. People wait for decades for games to come out, for which they're ready to spend 60$. They have many such people (market analysts, business development etc) that are aware of all that you're trying to say about other games releasing but as of now they've made enough user base who will install in a moment's notice.Īnd from business standpoint, XDefiant will be a good cash cow for Ubisoft, just like siege, so there's no way in hell they'll suddenly say bye bye to this game. It's just they've done their part after closed beta and now they're quickly trying to get it out for us. The OP mentions about hiring the community manager but what do you want them to talk about ? You think they will shut their mouths if they have any updates? Ofc not. Polishing and implementing valid community feedback is a part of game dev. And I understand the process of post production.
